Fitness Files: FXP Fitness
I was introduced to FXP Fitness while attending the Healthy Brands Showcase in New York, NY. With the fitness industry continuing to grow, there seems to be a new workout everywhere I look! FXP Fitness is definitely a crowd favorite with over 10,000 happy customers. The workout includes a holistic exercise program that blends cardio hooping with strength training. I spoke with the Program Creator, Niece Pecenka to learn more about FXP and how she continues to train her mind and body everyday.
NMF: Has fitness always been a major part of your life or was there a catalyst/point in your life when you made it more of a focus and priority?
FXP: "Movement" has been a major part of my life since childhood. I truly believe that children (and adults) learn by example. My parents did an amazing job at laying the foundation for an active healthy life. I grew up on a farm in Kansas. So we had very limited access to organized sports or gyms but that was never an excuse to not get moving. My dad welded a chin up bar out of scrap metal and bolted it to our living room ceiling. This is the example I had growing-up, I didn't think it was so cool as a teenager, but now I think it's awesome and inspiring! I strive to be that type of example for my own children as well as to every individual I meet.
NMF: What are a few of your go-to healthy snacks/drinks that help keep you on the straight and narrow?
FXP: I wouldn't be truthful if I didn't say my favorite go-to drink is coffee! No sugar, no cream, just straight up 100% dark roast COFFEE! I also love a good Avocado Toast! My favorite lately is toasted gluten-free brown rice bread, mashed avocado, topped with a heap of arugula, a bit of goat cheese, olive oil, a dash of fresh cracked pepper and sea salt. It's like an awesome salad to go. It also pairs nicely with an espresso!
NMF: At Nadia Murdock Fit our motto is “Train Your Mind, Change Your Body” so we must ask: How do you train your mind and stay motivated?
FXP: A strong Pilates and yoga practice helps me stay in a great mindset. In Pilates, every movement has a meaning. It's very purposeful movement - therefore very effective and efficient. In yoga, every breath has a meaning. It's very freeing - it helps clear the mind of all the useless "chatter" or any negative thoughts. To stay motivated, I'll take a class or try something new. I love to have fun while I work out! That's why I truly believe if you enjoy yourself while you work out you will stick with it and keep coming back for more!
NMF: How do you change your body?
FXP: You change your body when you change your perspective. I'm a firm believer in no pain, no gain, is fiction! Commit to a form of fitness you enjoy, follow a healthy diet, and stick with it! You will see results bottom line!
NMF: What are your fitness favorites?
FXP: I love all movement that's effective and efficient! My all-time favorite go-to moves come directly from Pilates principles, yoga, ballet barre techniques, and high-intensity interval training. The energy of a group class is contagious, but one of the greatest things about the FXP Hula Hoop it's portability. You can take it anywhere and get your workout on. Not to mention it burns serious calories and you always have fun while doing it!
Special discount! HOOP15 so they can get 15% off- now is a great time for ordering as holiday gifts for others and ourselves ;) who would guess it's a hula hoop when that box is under the tree!!!
